It’s time to make plans to attend the annual Pacific Northwest Historics vintage sports car races  at Pacific Raceways, located just east of Kent. Here’s a chance to have a day of fun around historic race cars and provide important financial support to Children’s Hospital (this year’s event hopes to raise $400,000).

Saturday’s Car Corral is an great chance for members of Club Miata Northwest to meet and display our cars, and see hundreds ofother interesting and rare sports cars parked all around us. Plus, during Saturday’s lunch break we’ll drive our Miatas in parade laps around the Pacific Raceways track.

Throughout the day, about a dozen short races will be run, grouping historic race cars by their competitive classes. You can expect lots of variety. Attendees can wander freely through spectator areas and the paddock where race cars are being prepared. This is a great event for photos!

The car corral at the PNW Historics is an excellent opportunity for members of local car clubs to meet and display their cars.Thosedisplaying their cars in the corral on Saturday or Sunday may participate in parade laps on the Pacific Raceways trackduring thlunch break and an informal judging for the “best” cars in various age groups.  The judges are generally children of event volunteers.  There are no formal car corral activities on Friday but the area is open to those purchasing car corral passes for the weekend or Friday.

Tickets for the car corral (admits car and driver) are $30 for one day or $50 for the weekend.  This reflects an additional $5 parking fee for track side parking.  Program will be available for sale at the check in table in the car corral for $5 per copy or in souvenirs and driver services as well as the main ticket booth.  Ticket prices for passengers are the same as last year with one-day tickets at $25 and weekend tickets at $40. Tickets for children 7 to 16 are $5 per day.  Space may be reserved for a club information booth for $20 per day or $35 for the weekend.  There is a 20-car limit for each club and we have approached the 250 car limit the past few years for the Saturday corral.

A Car Corral registration form is attached for your convenience. If possible please send a single registration request with check(s) payable to PNWH Vintage Racing Charities.  General admission tickets for passengers can be purchased either with the car corral tickets or at the gate.  If folks are paying for passenger tickets at the gate, we accept cash, checks, or plastic.  Cash (exact change, please) is easiest and quickest or check..  Since this is a fundraising event for Children’s, we try to be flexible with regard to car corral registration

Please fill out the Car Corral registration form (attached to this post) to order your tickets and reserve your place. Make your check payable to “Club Miata Northwest”. (Last-minute general admission tickets for passengers can also be purchased at the gate.)

Registration for the Car Corral is only open for a limited time. I need to receive your registration form and payment at the address below by May 24th, 2019

Once everyone signs up, I’ll send details on where we’ll rendezvous and collect our passes the morning of the event.
